Dear Julie,

It is 5:30. You called me three hours ago and I am still lost. You cannot imagine how much I wanted to hold you and to speak to you softly. This sad and desperate tone in your voice worries me so much. It’s so complex for me that in one second, I leave my ridiculous lawyer’s face to escape and hear your voice. Suddenly we create our own universe, our own territory, which will never exist with anyone else. This is new for me.

Julie, don’t despair, we’ll find a solution to these problems with the Administration. I am still confidant that I will be sent to work in the USA soon. Don’t let yourself feel overwhelmed by the people around you. You are more vulnerable and fragile than you realize. Preserve yourself for the things which are worthy of your enormous wealth of talent—tenderness, love, music, intelligence, poetry.
